Jerry Hardcastle, Global Chief Marketability Engineer
Jerry Hardcastle is Nissan's Global Chief Marketability Engineer. In this newly-created role, he is responsible for translating the diverse customer and market demands from around the world into technical solutions that will enhance the customer driving experience and the value of Nissan's product line-up.
Jerry has been working in the automotive industry for 27 years holding positions in design and development with Austin Rover Group and Nissan Motors Limited. Jerry joined Nissan in 1989 and has experience in the fields of Engine Design, Interior Trim Design, Vehicle Project Management, and Vehicle Evaluation and was previously Vice President - Vehicle Design and Development at Nissan Technical Centre Europe.
Jerry is also a member of the UK Automotive Council and currently holds the position of Chairman of the Technology Group within the council.
In 2010 the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (Automobile Division) presented Jerry with the Crompton Lanchester Medal for outstanding service considered to have special influence on the advancement of automobile engineering.
